Hubtown Horror was inspired by the terrifyingly fun spirit of the Summer Fear Fest in Tatamagouche. Year after year, that beloved gathering drew dedicated fans from all over to celebrate their shared passion, meet legendary horror icons, and build a thriving community centered around the macabre.
Seeing how much love, energy, and excitement local fans brought to the area inspired us to start a new tradition. Hubtown Horror at the Marigold Cultural Centre is the next evolution of that passion, bringing the same community vibes right into the heart of Truro. We kicked off our very first year with a dynamite guest in horror icon Derek Mears, establishing our mission to bring top-tier talent to town.
Our goal continues to expand on that legacy by delivering an action-packed, full-day event. During the day from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, fans can enjoy board games, guest meet-and-greets, local creator short film screenings, engaging panels, and a bustling vendor floor where artists, artisans, and dark-arts creators showcase and sell their unique wares. Then, into the evening, the lights dim for a special feature film screening followed by an exclusive live Q&A where fans can ask our guest speaker their burning questions.
Hubtown Horror at The Marigold Cultural Centre

Housed in a beautifully restored historic space on Prince Street, the venue features a 208-seat theater, an art gallery, workshop spaces, and a full-service box office.
